“You’ve gotta stay focused, Rex,” I hear Jim shout when I quietly enter the side door at the gym. “The Games are in one week. I need you to keep your mind clear and give one hundred percent in practice,” he tells Rex. “But above all, stay out of trouble. Our country needs you to represent us.”

Ah-choo!

I try to hold back but I can’t. A little sneeze slips from my nose and the sound echoes throughout the gym. Rex and Jim turn their heads in my direction, and I turn beat-red.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything,” I say, meekly.

“Not at all,” Jim says, then gives Rex an endearing pat on the back. “I’m out of here for the night. Lock up when you leave, and I’ll see you first thing in the morning. But Rex,” he pauses and a serious expression washes over his face, “remember what I said.”

Rex nods and Jim exits the ring and leaves the warehouse. A few power-lifters wearing headphones and pumping iron in the corner of the place. But other than that, Rex and I are alone.

I step through the ropes and into the ring with Rex.

“Are you going to practice wearing that?” he asks as he eyeballs my police uniform from head to toe.

I shrug my shoulders. “I just got off work and didn’t have time to change or grab my bag of clothes. But I suppose it’ll be smart to learn to punch in this outfit since I’ll be wearing it when I need to throw down.” Reaching down toward my sturdy utility belt, I unhook the pair of cuffs dangling from the belt and toss them on the ring floor. “But I don’t think I’ll be needing these right now.”

Rex stares back at me, shirtless and sexy as ever. He wears a pair of loose shiny workout shorts and gloves on his hands. His chiseled chest glistens in the light as beads of sweat from his last workout trickle down toward his waistband.

A little commotion in the corner causes us to turn our heads in the powerlifter’s direction. The man tosses the weights on the floor and zips up his bag. Popping out an earbud, he looks up at us in the ring.

“Have a good night,” he shouts and walks toward the exit.

As soon as he steps foot out of the building, Rex rips his gloves off and wraps his arms around me. In one swift motion, he lifts me and wraps my legs around his waist as he plants his lips on mine. Without hesitation, his tongue parts my lips and he explores my mouth, dancing with my tongue.

His hands pull me close and before I know it, my chest smashes against his face. Rex takes the opportunity to kiss the tops of my breasts that bulge out of my top-unbuttoned-uniform as he slowly lowers me to the floor in the ring.

The already hot warehouse steams up even more as he unbuttons the rest of my uniform and removes my top. Working his way to my bra, he frees my ladies from their restrictions by unhooking it.
